A series of fun and exciting workshops designed to support the new Primary Framework for Mathematics at KS2. MATHS MOSAICS Mosaics are a popular decorative art form dating back to Ancient Greece and Rome. Working individually and in groups, investigate the properties of geometric shapes and symmetrical patterns, design a two-colour geometric border pattern and make a small mosaic tile. Investigate the use of alpha-numeric ciphers. Solve puzzles and create messages using various numerical code systems. Evaluate the importance of frequency and probability in code-breaking.
